Migrating from RPG Maker

So,  I was expecting this to happen sooner or later, and finally, the time has come.  I can not continue working on this game with the current limitations (especially looking forward) that RPG Maker MZ (and its very few free-to-use plugins) has. I'll go into more detail on everything below, but here's a little summary if someone doesn't want to read the entire devlog:

I'm going to remake the entire game in GameMaker Studio 2 so that I have a more flexible base that I can work on easier than before.

Why?

Let's start from the beginning. RPG Maker MZ is easy to use, but that's also its drawback. It's not that easy to create something unique, or anything that would require a bit of programming, as programming is replaced with something called the 'Event System'.
In the Event System, you can create pretty much any basic thing you would use in an RPG, however, it's really just some plain preprogrammed events that you can mash together to create cutscenes, dialogue, battles, or other small functions. Well... well that's not very flexible...
There are plugins that add more features to the base engine, but some of them are pretty expensive actually, and RPG Maker MZ is still pretty new (compared to MV) so there are not as many plugins as I would need for this project.

GMS2?

GameMaker Studio 2 is what I choose for working on the game. It's pretty easy to use, very flexible, and I'm also pretty familiar with it already. The project will be completely remade inside GMS2, with some smaller changes regarding how some things work. For example, I'm really excited about getting into developing the battle system, as I can finally customize it to my likings. GMS2 gives so many opportunities, but it has a really big drawback...

About the Future

Because I'll have to write everything by myself now, without a base, it'll definitely take some more time to make the game. And while recreating everything from scratch, I'll also rework some aspects of the game. I have to think about some things regarding the story, rework some cutscenes, how the game executes certain game elements, but most importantly I'll have to remove the long walking simulator parts (corridors) :D.  This... will take a long time, at least 3-4 months to recreate the demo experience, that you can download right now,  if not more. I don't currently have a plan on when and how to do things, my first thing to do will be to recreate what you can currently play.

However, there's one thing I've been thinking about...
Releasing the game in chapters! It's not the best idea, but I want you guys to vote on what should I do.
You can check the poll here: https://strawpoll.com/kxdrjowkk

That's about it, I don't really have much else to say right now. Thank you to everyone who played the demo, and thank you to everyone who is still supporting me emotionally.
See you in the near future.
Toodles!
